US President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Ahmedabad, India on February 24 2020, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Sunday tweeted a series of ‘Namaste Trump’ posters.
Donald Trump Sabarmati Ashram and take part in a 22-km-long roadshow with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After that the two leaders will inaugurate a new cricket stadium in Motera and address a gathering there.
It was earlier speculated that the programme could be called ‘Kem Chho Trump’, a Gujarati expression. The posters now confirmed that it was now changed to ‘Namaste Trump’.
“World’s oldest democracy meets world’s largest democracy,” said one of the posters which had images of PM Modi and President Donald Trump with ‘Namaste Trump’ displayed prominently.
Posters on the event in the Motera stadium read “Two great democracies at the world’s biggest cricket stadium” and “Bringing ‘India’ PM Modi and ‘America’ Donald Trump together at the world’s biggest cricket stadium”.
The roadshow, will be commenced after the visit to the Sabarmati Ashram. To reach the newly-constructed 1.12 lakh capacity Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium, which will be inaugurated by Donald Trump and PM Modi.
The BJP members and leaders are excited about Donald Trump visit to Gujarat and almost everybody has been instructed to line-up as many people as possible. Along the road from the Ahmedabad airport to the Gandhi Ashram at Sabarmati and from there to the Motera stadium to welcome the US President.
But they all are waiting for the invitation to the ‘Namaste Trump’ event. “We are not certain about the invite. Even MLAs have not received any invite or access pass to the event,” said a local BJP leader.
Even Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had received his official invitation only on Tuesday evening.
